These are my concerns too. I wrote a book, The Age of Sustainability, about how to fix things. It didn’t sell much. One thing you need to keep up front is that each generation only gets so far. I grew up in the mid-20th century and thought the world was going to hell in a hand basket with pollution, war, bigotry, hunger, and disease all ravaging humans. The thing we forget at our peril is that we also work diligently at solutions. It is happening right now as you read this. Things that barely existed 50 years ago include, computers, electric cars, efficient solar cells, plant based meat, and a variety of pharmaceuticals and medical treatments. Having a decent understanding of history and economics helps you see through some of this and it can make you rich in the process.
