The thing you overlook is how Elon treats customers. I don't know enough to make a blanket statement but I left a Model 3 on the lot rather than agree to Tesla's surprising terms. Tesla has a lead in EVs that other vendors will need to catch up on. But they will. Add to this reality that every other manufacturer (sans the startups like Tesla) has over a century of learning how to treat customers well. They don't always succeed; they cut corners; the outright lie sometimes in my experience. But Tesla does all this too and they lack the good will that comes with making the attempt to be customer centric. Tesla is in trouble just as X is and for the same reason.
