The grid needs help but it also has a lot of elasticity. Generation generally goes way down overnight to match lower demand for baseload capacity. That's where the elasticity is. Green generation is still in its infancy though. We talk about wind and solar as if they are all there is. A great number of geothermal projects are being spun up on small, local bases.
