One of Stalin’s favorite tactics in WWII was to execute as deserters, those who would not take part in a frontal assault to the tune of about 200,000 men. Hitler was no better. That has sort of already happened with untrained prisoners leading charges. The tactic works well when the enemy runs out of bullets as may be happening now.
