Musk ought to be worrried if only to introduce him to humility. This is a big market though. There are about 260 million ICE cars on the road in the US and they all need to be replaced with EVs so handling production costs well is a prime concern in reaching lower price points. Self driving and not using sonar and radar are bone headed moves at self-limitation. But Musk’s biggest issue, and one that could be solved with little money, is how Tesla treats customers. I’ve seen their business practices at close range and even refused delivery of a Tesla because of their business practices. EVs are beginning to hit the commoditization curve and when that happens price and customer relationship management will be the only attributes many buyers care about.

Used to write a lot more about science, tech, econ, politics etc. I spend my time reading and painting with exercise for good measure. Looking for more.
