Republicans are gung-ho on crashing government while Democrats search for meaning, split hairs, and try to raise money. It’s not time to do anything but wait for the bottom to come into view. Then, if it’s not too late, we can look forward to renewal.

I used to be a Democrat but now I’m not sure. I used to consider myself liberal but looking at the political landscape I now feel more in the middle. Around me I see a political party second guessing itself and chasing its tail hoping to find direction. I do not feel demoralized by recent events including the Trump restoration even though I don’t see my party being particularly effective.

I AM TIRED OF LOOKING FOR FREE PICS FOR MY ARTICLES AND/OR GETTING SUED. THINK OF THIS AS A PICTURE. IF YOU NEED SOMETHING PRETTY TO LOOK AT THIS ARTICLE ISN’T FOR YOU.

The party is troubling. It does not seem to have much direction, and it has fallen back on learned behaviors which include fund raising (for what?) and sounding the alarm. What I don’t see, and what troubles me, is any effort to organize around a core set of beliefs. A purpose. Right now, I think we believe too much which means we believe in nothing.

Scope creep is what they call it when building something. It refers to settling on an blueprint or plan only to have it be revisited and added to. Very often the additions sound good but they may not fit with the foundational ideas that launched the project. As a result, you build something rickety, or something that no longer meets any need.
