It is sad to read this mostly because there are people out there who will also read this and think, "Oh shit!"

I am not one of them and I wrote a book about everything this article is not.

There is no data whatsoever in this piece, just a bunch of cynical speculation and whining. My fav is this gem:

"the fact that every life bearing planet went through several evolutionary extinctions to produce a humanoid species capable of understanding and intelligence only for them to fuck it all up every single time."

Really? Where did you get the part about every life bearing planet? Been zooming around the universe to help us understand the big picture?

Here's something to consider. All the fossil fuels we ever had or will have are fossils because they came from living things that died millions of years ago. They captured and sequestered a great deal of energy that has been waiting all this time for us to discover it. That process continues.

Do we humans deserve the good fortune to have been born in this time and place. Probably not but somebody had to do it.

I study economic cycles for a living and the people who promise easy fixes and those like you promising disaster are all birds of a feather from the species grifter.

Used to write a lot more about science, tech, econ, politics etc. I spend my time reading and painting with exercise for good measure. Looking for more.
