I'd have to add that the dealer networks are hampering sales. I have tried to buy an EV from 3 different brands and each time, the dealer wanted thousands of dollars above MSRP. This is not what you do to establish a new product category. If Ford and GM are losing money on each unit, I guarantee the dealers are not. If demand is not being realized it is because dealers are thwarting the transition to EVs. Tesla has its own problems with arrogance but I think, from my experience, it might be time to jettison the old dealership model because it doesn't benefit the customer or the manufacturer. We spend a great part of the last 40 years disintermediating industries. It is now time to disintermediate the auto delivery chain.
