I wrote a book about this, The Age of Sustainability. You are mostly right and I also referenced the Club of Rome's study. Some things to consider: Global pop in 1938 was 2.2 billion, today it is a shade over 8 billion. The UN estimates that earth's carrying capacity is about 10 billion. All are things to be concerned about but we have a little time. But also consider Winston Churchill's observation that applies to all humanity. He said, "You can always trust the Americans to do the right thing...After they've tried everything else." I think we're at the end of the trying stage, thankfully! BTW powder in the atmosphere a la Mt. Pinatubo solves nothing because it hampers photosynthesis which is what takes carbon out of the atmosphere. Check out Open Ocean Iron Fertilization for a safe and non-polluting approach.
