I remember COMPAQ. Their first product, from which the company got its name, was a portable computer with a small CRT screen and a floppy drive, maybe even 10 MB storage. It was not a laptop but it was compact for the times. I would only call Microsoft a software company that dabbles in hardware, unlike Oracle that really does both and quite well. Salesforce promotes a 4 stage lifecycle to AI. Generative AI is kind of trivial if you think about it. Next up and the thing we need to pay attention to is artificial general intelligence.
