Good stuff!

Everybody please remember that the ‘net’ in net-emissions is an accounting term. It means we take some emissions out while putting other emissions in. In practical terms, somebody burns fossil fuels and somebody else reduces or eliminates theirs. You buy an EV and somebody else continues to drive your old car.

We need net to get net-emissions to zero and then to a negative number. It can be done.

The most secure energy source is one that you completely control. This means you don’t buy solar panels and windmills from China. Instead you build geothermal plants up and down the Rocky Mountains. There is enough underground heat to power all of us several times over.

As always, think ahead. Fresh water and not energy is the most limited resource. We need desalination plants as much as we need geothermal energy.

Cheers!
